BarlowGirl is a Contemporary Christian band, consisting of the three sisters. Using three-part harmony, the Barlow girls blend their voices with the rock genre, resulting in a wide variety of sound. Alyssa (lead vocals, bass, keyboard), Rebecca (background vocals, guitar), and Lauren Barlow (co-lead vocals, drums) were born into a family interested in music. Their father created youth Praise CD's for their church in Illinois. Oftentimes, he would bring his three home schooled daughters along with him.
Their first gig was for a GMA "Music for the Rockies" seminar. The sisters were unaware that the seminar was for recording studio for unsigned artists, and they were being judged. Their performance dove them into the music industry as interest in them began to grow. By October of the next year, they were already signed for a label.
From BarlowGirl's first album, the song "Never Alone" remained #1 on the charts for longer than any other song in 2004. Since then, they have released five additional albums and won over ten Contemporary artist awards. All the while, they have upheld their image and their beliefs in faith, purity, and waiting for the "one perfect man already chosen for us".
