Don't Forget About Me
Simple Minds
Simple Minds was an '80's rock band originally from Scotland and are ortherwise classified in the "One Hit Wonder" cattegory. "Don't Forget About Me" became popular when included in the American Teen drama, The Breakfast Club. After Billy Idol turned down the oppurtunity to perform the song, writers Keith Forsay and Steve Schiff searched for a willing participant. Initially, Simple Minds dismissed the song as well. It seemed "Don't Forget About Me" was the hot-potatoe of the music industry. Eventually, they did sign on to the project, and the track went on to become not only their most famous song, but also considered a defining song of the 1980's.
